About

I am Gergely Czukor, PhD in Leadership Studies, director of the Organizational Psychology graduate program at Istanbul Bilgi University. I teach leadership to graduate students and members of organizations.

My research interest focuses on developing and applying the Self and Follower Goal-Aware Leadership model. This model is the culmination of 10 years of teaching and researching leadership, all while trying to explain how leaders influence their followers to feel motivated to achieve common objectives.

I am happy to discuss your AI-supported feedback, leadership coaching, workshop, or training needs. Please leave a message on the Contact page.

The SFGAL Model

Have you ever felt that your team lacks motivation to achieve your objectives? The SFGAL model helps you motivate your team to achieve shared goals successfully. It offers an actionable guide for your leadership development.

Follower-Goal Awareness

“Are you aware of your team members' professional goals and needs?”

Self-Goal Awareness

“Are you aware of your own professional goals and needs?”

Four Leadership Styles

Win-Win
Self-focus: High Team-focus: High

You propose goals that benefit both you and your team, with high motivation, mutual respect, and success.

Self-Oriented
Self-focus: High Team-focus: Low

You are clear on your goals, but may overlook what your team needs to feel capable and committed.

Self-Neglecting
Self-focus: Low Team-focus: High

You are highly supportive of your team but chronically ignore your own needs, risking burnout and losing authority.

Lose-Lose
Self-focus: Low Team-focus: Low

A lack of clear direction for yourself and your team leads to confusion, low motivation, and poor results.

Three Routes to Motivation

🎯

Competence

Values

Your values (e.g., integrity, collaboration, growth) determine the way you lead and make decisions.
